The Rooted series began with a simple intention: to create puzzle books that do more than entertain. I wanted to design something accessible, relaxing, and educational—something that invites readers to slow down and connect with the deeper stories of the places they love.
Each volume in the Rooted series focuses on a single U.S. national park and highlights three core elements: the Indigenous nations who have stewarded the land since time immemorial, the ecosystems that make each park unique, and the cultural and geological history that shaped the landscape long before it became a tourist destination.
These books are large‑print word searches and trivia collections, but they’re also an invitation to learn. Every puzzle is built from real history, real ecology, and real place‑based knowledge. The goal is not to offer a comprehensive historical text—these are puzzle books, not academic volumes—but to create an approachable entry point for readers who want to deepen their understanding of the land and its original caretakers.
The Rooted series is designed for anyone who loves national parks, enjoys learning through play, or simply wants a quiet, meaningful way to unwind. They’re ideal for travelers, families, educators, and anyone who believes that knowing the story of a place is part of honoring it.
As the series grows, each book will continue to follow the same guiding principles: respect, accuracy, accessibility, and connection. Rooted is about remembering that every landscape has a lineage—and that learning those stories is one small way we can practice care for the places we move through.
If you’d like to explore the series, you can find the current volumes on Amazon, with more parks to come.
