On Monday, June 1, 2026, we will gather to explore adrienne maree brown’s Emergent Strategy, a text that has reshaped how many of us think about change, leadership, and collective action.
Change as a Living System
Brown invites us to understand change not as a rigid plan but as a living, adaptive process. She draws from nature, science fiction, and movement work to illustrate how small actions, fractals, and relationships shape large‑scale transformation.
Adaptive, Relational Leadership
A core insight of Emergent Strategy is that leadership must be relational, responsive, and grounded in interdependence. This aligns deeply with the Fifth Element philosophy: sustainable change emerges from connection, not control.
Practicing Transformation
Brown offers practices that help us embody the principles of emergence—intentional adaptation, decentralization, resilience, and imagination. In our discussion, we’ll explore how these practices can support our work in community, business, and personal transformation.
A Community of Learners
As always, our book club is a space for shared reflection. Together, we’ll examine how emergent principles can guide us toward more liberatory ways of organizing and leading.
Join us on June 1, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM EST.
